Vintage Electric Porcelain Tea Pot
I bought this because when I pick it up I thought it was just a tea pot,but I took off the lid I saw the heating element and thought it was very interesting. Unfortunately, there was no cord with it. I don't have any history on the date of this piece. If anyone has information I would love to hear from you.

Succulent Country Ribs Recipe
Ok, I have to put up one more today because it sounds really yummy!
Just look at its title it starts with succulent!
Ok, this is my kinda cooking!
Alright, I can't lie, it's only when my husband isn't home.
Yes, he does all of the cooking and baking.
Here are country ribs without all the work.
No broiling or boiling, just brown the ribs,
cover with tasty homemade sauce and bake!
Succulent Country Ribs
Preparation time: 20 mins
Oven temperature: 325 degrees F
Baking time: about 1 1/2 hours
For 4 servings you will need:
3-4 lbs country-style pork ribs
1 Tbsp. oil
1/2 Cup soy sauce (it reads Mild soy sauce, but what do I know I thought soy sauce was soy sauce)
1/3 Cup Ketchup
1 tsp. dry mustard
2 Tbsp. brown sugar, packed
1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. chili powder ~ (Few dashes hot pepper sauce and / or Cayenne pepper, optional)
1. Cut off excess fat from ribs. Heat oil. Brown ribs and place them in a roasting pan.
2. Combine soy sauce, catsup, mustard, brown sugar, garlic, black pepper, chili powder, hot pepper sauce and cayenne. Pour sauce over ribs, turning to coat evenly.
3. Cover with foil and bake at 325 degrees F, for 45-50 mins. Uncover. Spoon sauce over ribs, leaving uncovered bake 45-50 mins longer until ribs are tender, a rich brown and begin to crisp.
See, even I could do this! If you try it, let me know how you liked it. ENJOY!
Cheesy Eggplant Sticks Recipe
I bought an old box and to my surprise inside there were tons of old recipes. I've been flipping through them and decided to share. I must be hungry because I don't even care for eggplant and these sounded good to me!
Cheesy Eggplant Sticks
Preparation time ~ 10 mins
Broiling time ~ 10-12 mins (preheated broiler)
For 4 Servings you will need:
1 ~ regular or 8 Japanese eggplants
1/2 Cup butter or margarine, melted
1/4 Cup grated onion
2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
1 1/2 - 2 Cups grated Cheddar Cheese (you can substitute any hard cheese)
Preparation:
1. Peel and quarter eggplant lengthwise. If using regular eggplant, cut into smaller wedges.
Place on an ungreased baking sheet.
2. Mix butter, onion and garlic. Brush mixture on eggplant sticks
3. Broil eggplant about 5 - 7 mins. Turn. Brush with butter and broil an additional 5 mins longer.
4. Sprinkle with cheese. Broil until cheese melts and serve immediately.
I hope you try this and enjoy!
Daylight Savings Time ~ Spring Ahead
Don't forget this week end is day light savings time!
During his time as an American envoy to France, Benjamin Franklin, author of the proverb,
"Early to bed, and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise",
anonymously published a letter suggesting that Parisians, economize on candles
by rising earlier to use morning sunlight.
This 1784 satire proposed taxing shutters, rationing candles, and waking the public by
ringing church bells and firing cannons at sunrise,
Franklin did not propose DST
Wow, I don't even like the sound of my alarm!
1918 was the first year that the US changed it's clocks for daylight savings time.

Vintage How - To, Children's Interactive Gardening Book
I love this book! It's from the 1930's or 40's but I can't find another one like it to do any additional research.
There are still 4 out of the 5 original Vaughan's flower seeds packets. As you turn each page it adds the flowers to the garden! Oh so Cute!

March is Women's History Month
In the United States, March is Women's History Month, a time for celebrating the diverse and historic accomplishments of women.
During World War II, some 350,000 women served in the U.S. Armed Forces, both at home and abroad. They included the Women's Airforce Service Pilots, who on March 10, 2010, were awarded the prestigious Congressional Gold Medal. Meanwhile, widespread male enlistment left gaping holes in the industrial labor force. Between 1940 and 1945, the female percentage of the U.S. workforce increased from 27 percent to nearly 37 percent, and by 1945 nearly one out of every four married women worked outside the home.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need:

- 1/4 cup white vinegar

Vintage Piano Sheet Music, 1902
Benj. Richmond, Australian composer of "Dance of the Song Bird" (photo on left), I came across another piece of his work, this 1902 "Dance of the Honey Bees" piano sheet music. Published by Willis Woodward in 1902. This is music for the piano and a fabulous piece of history.
I looked for a few hours but couldn't find any real history on Benj. Richmond, just that he was an Australian Composer. I wish I played so I could hear what I was looking at!

Early American Pewter Cup/Chalice/Goblet, Wallingford, Connecticut
During the nineteenth century, Wallingford industry expanded with a considerable concentration of small pewter and Britannia ware manufacturers. By mid-century, Robert Wallace acquired the formula for nickel silver and established with Samuel Simpson, R. Wallace & Company the forerunner of Wallace Silversmiths. It was also during this period that many of the small silver and Britannia plants were combined to form the International Silver Company with its headquarters in Meriden,CT and several plants in Wallingford, CT.
Early American pewter is noted for its simplicity of style.

The bottom of this cup/goblet/chalice is marked Pewterers, Wallingford, Conn, with the initials, KB in the center.

Good Morning!
Hi, my husband and I went out treasure hunting over the week end and discover a whole new area of SC, farm country! We drove forever and got lost. We were out hoping to find a tag sale.
There were no tags sales but, what we did find was miles and miles of Picking territory!
Within the next few weekends we are going to bring some money and actually knock on some doors and ask if we can Pick! Beautiful old abandon barns, sheds, back yards filled with numerous treasrues.
So, after our hunt I will let you know how it went. Hopefully we won't get shot!
